Happy Home!

Sorry I haven't posted any blogs/pictures lately but things have been hectic here lately and I just haven't really got a chance to sit down and write stuff out:)

BIG NEWS! Dex and Deb have found a new mommy! :) They have been adopted by a wonderful lady here in Durham who wants them both! I couldn't be more pleased.

She will be fostering to adopt them which means her adoption will not be 100% final until they are spayed/neutered. Dex and Deb will move in with her officially on Monday the 29th of September!

I am so delighted that I have found a home for these two little angels! And I look forward to fostering and blogging about many other IAR kitties that need loving homes:)

Speaking of IAR, we are having a bake sale this weekend in honor of another IAR kitty who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Miss Pansy Pie (you can read about her here: http://pansyweightloss.blogspot.com/) She is a wonderful kitty whom we all love so much! The Bake sale is today and tomorrow at the Petco on 15-501 in Durham. I will be out there today from 3-5pm:) Come on out and support Miss P and the wonderful IAR program!

Dex and Deb Update 9/14/08

Well I have come to the conclusion that Dex is no longer nursing:) He much prefers the kitten food and the licks of sauce off his mama's fancy feast:) I haven't seen him nurse all day! Deb is still nursing with mama, but also likes the sauce and kitten food. I am guessing that the nursing will stop pretty soon all together, which will probably be a relief for mama as she seems so stressed out:)

I will be bringing the kittens to work with me on Friday so that they can get their first round of vaccines:) And then they will be coming back home with me for another couple weeks and when they are protected a bit more by vaccines I will be letting them romp around the adoption room at my job:) They are such happy little kittens! Truly the best I have ever known:)

Deb is so funny:) If you make kiss-kissnoises at her she hisses and then pounces on you and rolls all over you:) Dex loves mocking at the camera these days:) As you can tell but yet ANOTHER head tilt photo:) I took a picture of the head tilt and then hissy face, they are below:) Along with a couple other ones.

Another First for Dex and Deb:)

Today during playtime I just couldn't take it anymore lol....I had to cut their nails! They were both soooooo good about it. I had my 6 year old son Ewan hold them for me while I got the tiny tiney little toenails....Dex was the best! Deb was a little squirmy but all in all they were good for it:) Now they can climb all over me and the boys again without scratching us up:)

They were really cute today! As always:) Climbing all over everything! Deb is getting more ambitious, chasing her brother and biting his tail:) It's cute to watch!!

Here are a couple pics I took today:) Enjoy!

Happy Little Babes:)

Dex and Deb had a blast today playing all over me and my bed:) They climbed up pillows, through pillow cases, in my hair...they chased each other and had a blast! They are growing up so fast! I actually saw Deb eat a couple bites of dry kitten food today, she is still nursing pretty intensely, Dex is kinda like "whatever" and will do both...But they are making excellent progress and are sweet little things:) Here are some pictures of them:) With captions:)

Dex says "Excuse me while I naw on your pillow"

This is Deb's classic "Who Me?" pose

Dex says "I'm even cuter when I tilt my head"

In this he is stalking his sister lol

Deb says "I am watching you bro, don't even try it!?"

Kitty Play Time & They Are Toddler Proof:)

The kittens had free roam around Liam's room today! Lots of room to romp and play, and they had lots of toys to climb on and through:) The kittens are officially toddler-proof now:) My 2 year old Liam kept picking them up and bringing them to new places in his room and they didn't mind a bit!!
Dex loves to roll on his back and have his little tummy rubbed! It is soooo cute! He played in and out of the doors on Liam's toy kitchen! A kitten playland in itself!
Deb is such a doll...She would scamper around and then come back to me as if the check if I was still there! She is a snuggle-bunny:)

I took some more pictures for you to enjoy:)

Dex and Deb Meet Casey!

Dex and Deb ventured out today, or rather I let them out of the room they've been staying in to give momma cat some peace to eat (both kittens have been trying to eat their mom's food--especially Fancy Feast when I feed it to her), and they were introduced to my 2 cats Noodle and Casey. Noodle, who for whatever reason, detests kittens just hissed and walked away....But my cat Casey laid down on the bed next to them, ear slightly bent back as if to say "who the heck are you" and didn't seem to mind them. Dex and Deb just stared at Casey as if in awe of his mammoth size (mama cat is only 5-6lbs) It was a really cute moment so I snapped a picture! I also took a couple of cute shots of the kittens while they were climbing all over me and my bed!

Welcome to Dex and Deb's Place:)

Hello Everyone! This is Dex and Deb's blog space:) These are truly two of the cutest kittens EVER! They were born on August 8, 2008 on my front porch. Thankfully I work for The Cat Hospital of Durham and Chapel Hill, where I met Adrienne Breaux who has introduced me to the WONDERFUL world of Independent Animal Rescue! These two wonderful kitties will be up for adoption VERY soon through IAR:) They will also be available for visits at The Cat Hospital of Durham and Chapel Hill. I will post when they are OFFICIALLY ready to be adopted.

The details:) Dex is an ADORABLE black and white kitten. He is already trying to eat his momma's dry food! He's going to be a big man in the future I think:) He loves to be cuddled amd rub noses with us:) His little sister, Deb, is a little bit smaller then him but JUST AS ADORABLE. She is going to grow up to look just like her momma, a gray, black and white tabby. They are already wrestling together, and Deb uses her brother as a step-stool to climb on top of their mother's head:)

I am going to try and update this blog every few days, and take some pictures as they grow!! It is going to be soooo hard to let these angels go but I am sure with the help of IAR they will find WONDERFUL forever homes!!!!
